What is Botox?
BOTOX® is the commercial trade name for Botulinum Toxin Type A.Botulinum Toxin is derived from the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. When injected into muscles, Botulinum Toxin has a local effect. It blocks transmission between the nerve endings and muscle fibres around the injection site to cause weakness of the nearby muscle.
What is Botox used for?
Botox is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment for moderate to severe frown lines. It is typically used in people aged 18 to 65. Botox works by blocking nerve transmission to temporarily reduce the contractions of the facial muscles that cause frown lines. It has been proven to be a safe and effective treatment for wrinkles, and botox injections are becoming increasingly popular.
Who can have Botox treatment?
Your doctor will decide if you can have cosmetic treatment with botox. Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you have any disorders that affect your nerves and muscles, if you are breastfeeding, or if you are planning to become pregnant soon.
The Botox injection procedure
Your doctor will administer several tiny injections of botox directly into the muscles of your face. Prior to injection, your doctor will determine where to administer the injections by examining your ability to move certain muscles in your brow area. The entire botox injection procedure takes approximately 10 minutes and does not require anaesthesia. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief.
After the injection
You should notice an improvement in your frown lines within 3 to 7 days, the effects of which can last up to 4 months. However, results may vary. After a period of time, your frown lines will begin to reappear as the effects of botox wear off.
Cautions/contra-indications
Do not have botox treatment if you:
There are also a number of medicines that may interact with botox (eg. quinidine, some antibiotics). It is important to tell your doctor if you are taking any medication.
The Juvéderm® Collection takes naturally-occurring hyaluronic acid, using a proprietary technology, to achieve a long-lasting, smooth, natural looking result.
In its natural form, hyaluronic acid exists in a liquid form, and has a short-life of approximately 1-2 days. The Hylacross™ technology in Juvéderm® Ultra™ XC and Juvéderm® Ultra Plus™ XC, and Vycross™ technology in Juvéderm Voluma™ with Lidocaine increase this by prolonging the time it takes for the hyaluronic acid to be degraded. This process also optimizes the natural hyaluronic acid to create a firm gel that can easy be sculpted and molded.
How does ageing affect the skin ?
As the skin ages, its natural ability to retain moisture diminishes.
The skin also loses natural sugars ( hyaluronic acid ) and proteins, that decreases the volume
of the tissue under the surface.
Hyaluronic acid, in its natural form, exists in a liquid form and lasts approximately 1 to 2
days. Facial muscle movement can also cause wrinkles.
How can we treat the affected areas ?
Wrinkles, folds and loss of volume can be treated by injections of HA, whic is known to be a
well-tolerated and effective treatment.
How does Juvéderm® treat these issues ?
Juvéderm® Voluma® with lidocaine restores volume loss from deeper areas of the face.
Juvéderm® Ultra™ XC adds definition to the lips and reduce any fine lines.
Juvéderm® Ultra Plus™ XC lessens the appearance of laugh lines.
What side effects can be expected from Juvéderm® ?
Potential side effects associated with implantation of this product ( redness, pain, swelling,
itching, etc. ) which may occur immediately or with delay, and may last for a week.
If such symtoms or any other side effects which develop and persist for more than one
week, please have the patient contact the doctor.
How long is the procedure and is it needed to take time off work ?
The procedure involves injections using a fine needle and may only take 15 to 20 minutes, hence there is no need to take time of work. The appointment can be set up during lunch hour and then return to a normal routine. There should be minimal downtime, however, if there is any unusual symptoms or side effects, please have the patient contact the doctor
Dermapen Utilises multiple needles to vertically pierce the skin with patent-pending AOVN (Advanced Oscillating vertical Needla) technology. Dermapen Glides over the skin, creating millions of fine channels. These channels can carry up to 80% more tropical nutrients.
Dermapen systematically creates micro-punctures in the skin and body naturally respond by launching processes to reapir the physical damage. The result is an increased production of normal woven collagen, similar to that achieved by fractional treatments, but without the side effects and downtime. Practitioners find dermapen treatments to be more effective and more beneficial than most microdermabrasion and chemical peels.
When compared to traditional dermal rollers, Dermapen causes less epidermal (skin) damage, reducing levels of pain and discomfort. As a result dermapen is a safer, more comfortable and more effective micro-needling treatment. Dermapen single use cartridges eliminate risk of cross-contamination, whilst the adjustable needle depth allows for a treatment that is fully tailored to your individual needs. Dermapen is so advanced, it is even suitable and safe to use in delicate and hard to reach areas such as around the eyes, eyelids, earlobes, neck, lips and on the nose.
FAQ’s
Q : How many treatments are recommended for rejuvenation, acne scarring and stretch marks? (General guide)
A: Rejuvenation: 4-6 treatments, 4 weeks apart
Acne scarring: 6 treatments, 6 weeks apart
Stretch marks: 4-8 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart
Q: Should I prepare my skin before having a Dermapen™ Treatment?
A: For optimal results, a period of effective active treatment creams, such as
Vitamin A, C or Resveratrol & Procyanidin is recommended to allow the skin’s strength to build-up (especially for thin or delicate skin areas). Consult your clinician about the recommended DP Dermaceuticals™ Pre- and Post- procedure protocol.
Q: How long should it take before I see results?
A: Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4 to 6 treatments (spaced 4-6 weeks apart). Your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months after a course of treatments and when combined with the recommended post treatment care.
Q: Is the treatment painful?
A: For minimum needle depths Dermapen™ Treatments are painless. Treatments over 0.5mm deep, may require a topical anesthetic cream to be applied for 15-40 minutes before the procedure. This will render the treatments virtually pain free.
Q: Is there any downtime after treatments?
A: Generally no, but you may experience facial redness for 12-48 hours after the treatment. Most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately
after the treatment. Application of a breathable camouflage will seal the skin and cover any redness for an immediate return to work.
Q: How soon after filler injections can I have a Dermapen™ Treatment?
A: It is recommended to wait at least 7 days after filler injections, so that any post treatment bruising from the fillers can settle. It is also possible to have your Dermapen™ Treatment several days before having fillers injected. Consult with your practitioner prior to determine exactly how long a wait is best in each particular case.

What is PRP?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is “harvested” from your own blood. This is done by collecting a small volume of your blood (much like having a blood test) and spinning it down to separate the red blood cells from the platelet cells. This resulting PRP is introduced back under the skin by a series of tiny injections. Treatment with PRP is not new to the world; it has been recognized for its accelerated wound-healing properties in surgery and sports injuries for some time.
Platelets are the “sticky glue” that stop bleeding when you hurt yourself. Their other job is to promote wound healing and repair by attracting growth cells.
PRP treatment produces a rejuvenating and tightening effect on your skin, giving it a healthy, youthful glow.
It is ideal for:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Textural improvement
Dull dry skin
Hair-growth stimulation (in those with thinning hair)
and is used in the following areas:
Full-face rejuvenation
Crêpey neck
Eye area (both upper and lower eyelids)
Décolletage
Backs of hands
Other body areas
The process takes around an hour. The skin area(s) to be treated are numbed with a topical anaesthetic cream.
You can expect to have some redness, swelling and bruising, subsiding quickly over the following 4-7 days.
The initial treatment for PRP is one treatment a month for 3 to 4 months, then repeat treatments either 6-monthly or 12-monthly, depending on your skin and results.
As PRP is made up of your own blood products there is no risk of allergy, rejection or serious long-term side effects.
PRP is contraindicated if you smoke, have cancer, a poor diet or lifestyle, have chronic disease, or a poor platelet count.
How long do results last?
Treatment results vary, but once tissue has been regenerated and remodelled, that benefit may be permanent. However, as we continue to age, the problem areas eventually reappear. It is thought that this occurs over 9-18 months after a single treatment (although everyone is different). Touch-up treatments will maintain the results.
What is the treatment process of facial rejuvenation with PRP?
The nurse/doctor will assess the degree of skin aging, perform a skin analysis, and recommend a sensible treatment plan, discussing expected treatment outcomes, efficacy and safety. The number of treatment sessions that will be required is discussed, as well as the cost of those sessions.
A photograph of the skin is taken to assist the follow-up and grading of the improvement.
Prior to treatment, a blood sample of 10 or 25mls is taken from your arm. The blood is immediately placed in the centrifuge for 8 minutes. When centrifugation is complete your plasma will be separated from your red blood cells. The plasma, rich in platelets, is then extracted.
The PRP is then injected into the skin. Adequate pain relief is usually achieved with local anaesthetic cream although anaesthetic injections or anaesthetic gas can also be used.
PRP facial rejuvenation can be a one-off treatment, but for the best results a course of treatments is performed at 4-12 weekly intervals to inject fresh platelets and restart the regeneration.
What are the side-effects of PRP facial rejuvenation?
Expect some swelling and redness for 12-24 hours. Expect some small bruises. A bruise at the blood-taking site may be visible for 2-3 days.
How do I prepare for PRP?
If you want results then DO NOT SMOKE. Do not use illegal drugs, avoid excess alcohol and definitely stay off aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs such as Nurofen® and Voltaren® for two weeks before and six weeks after treatment. If you supplement with omega 3 fatty acids (such as fish, krill or flax seed oil), you should also stop them during the same period.
Expectations and after-care for PRP
Immediately after treatment, you will see and feel swelling from the injected fluid. Once the swelling has subsided you will see a slight improvement in your skin. Over a few weeks the platelets will stimulate growth factors, and you will start to see improvement in the tone and texture of the skin. The neck is slower to improve than the face.
Results become visible at 3 weeks and increase gradually over ensuing months with improvement in the skin’s texture and tone.
Light dermal rolling will enhance the results. A needle roller can be used at the time of treatment and should be used every day for six weeks. An extra charge for this applies.
Minimal improvement can be expected if you are a heavy user of drugs, alcohol or tobacco.
Advanced wrinkling and severe scarring may not respond well.
Who cannot use PRP?
Smokers, Drug and heavy alcohol users all get poor results. The tar from cigarettes in particular inhibits growth factor production.
This treatment is not recommended for people with platelet or clotting disorders; sepsis or any form of acute or chronic infection; or if you have severe systemic disease, metastatic cancer or severe liver disease.
Anyone on anticoagulant or anti platelet therapy – if you use aspirin, warfarin, dipyridamole (Persantin® / Pytazen SR®), clopidogrel (Plavix®) or tranexamic acid (Cyclokapron®).
Who should NOT have PRP treatment?

As the baby boomer generation continues to age, the popularity of aesthetic procedures that aim to turn back the clock continues to skyrocket. Brown spots, broken capillaries and other fallout from photoaging are easy targets for laser systems that use broadband light to repair these defects through a process called photorejuvenation. Additionally, facial wrinkles can now be treated non-ablatively, contributing to a more youthful appearance.
Alma Laser using relatively low-energy, short-pulse broadband light, imperfections such as erythema of rosacea, superficial telangiectasia, dyschromia, age spots and other discolored signs of photoaging can be gently heated and eliminated, replaced by newer, younger looking skin. Patients prefer use Alma Lasers’s because each treatment is gentle with no downtime. In fact, laser skin treatments for wrinkles and other signs of aging can be done during a lunch hour and no one will notice any sign of treatment, just a gradual improvement in the skin’s appearance.
Technology in use
Alma Laser is the next generation of intense pulsed light. It takes formerly unused short-wavelength light and converts it into part of the usable spectrum through a special filtering system. It increases emission and penetration for safer and more effective treatments.

OXYGENEO™ Technology, is inspired by the renowned healing powers of natural hot springs. Hot springs are known for their high concentration of carbon dioxide that helps stimulate oxygenation of the skin.
By simulating this phenomenon, OxyGeneo triggers a body response that sends oxygen to the treated area. At the same time OxyGeneo exfoliates the skin and creates an optimal environment for infusion of essential nutrients both during and after treatment. The OxyGeneo effect saves time by performing all 3 actions .
How does OxyGeneo work ?
OxyGeneo™ exfoliates the upper skin layer, preparing it to receive active nutrients.
Through our exclusive Capsugen, OxyGeneo™ cleanses the skin while infusing essential nutrients.
OxyGeneo produces countless minute CO2 bubbles which gently burst on the skin surface.
The OxyGeneo applicator is designed to degas the CO2 bubbles from the gel and infuse them into the epidermis through a kinetic force that optimizes the reaction.
After an OxyGeneo session your skin should feel smoother, fresher and look brighter with a more uniform tone. In addition you might notice a general improvement in skin texture and in fine lines appearance.
Facial massage can help prevent new tension lines and wrinkles from appearing. Massage does this by relaxing the muscles and by stimulating the blood vessels under the skin.

TCA Peel
Trichloracetic acid (TCA) peels are considered medium-depth peels. They reach slightly deeper into the skin than alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) peels–and thus often produce stronger results.
These peels also have the advantage of being suitable for most skin types, including darker-toned skin. To avoid discoloration, however, people with dark brown skin need to follow a pre-treatment protocol that may include treating the skin with alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) first. (Your physician will explain this process to you during your consultation.)
How Does a TCA Peel Work?
TCA is a skin-resurfacing treatment: it removes dead skin cells, uncovering a “new” layer of skin that appears smoother and more vibrant. As a result, it softens fine lines, minimizes superficial “age” spots and other skin discolorations, and generally improves the tone and texture of your skin. TCA peels are also very popular for diminishing the appearance of acne scars.
More than one TCA treatment may be recommended. Treatments are usually spaced 2 to 3 months apart. To increase their effectiveness, these peels are often combined with other skin-rejuvenating treatments, such as microdermabrasion.
TCA peels generally takes 15 to 30 minutes. The exact length of treatment will depend on how many “coats” of the acid are applied to your skin. First, your skin will be cleansed and degreased. Then the acid will be applied. As soon as the acid has reached the intended depth, your physician will apply a neutralizing solution.
You’ll experience a slight stinging sensation during the 2 to 3 minutes the solution remains on your skin. Your physician may use ice water or a fan to reduce any discomfort. If a high concentration of acid is being used, you may also be given a medication for pain or anxiety.
Side Effects
You’ll probably want to set aside several days to recover from a TCA treatment. Immediately after the procedure, you can expect some skin irritation, redness and swelling. Within a few days, your skin will tighten and darken–and then begin to crack and peel for the next 4 to 7 days–at which point the tighter, smoother and more youthful-looking layer of skin will emerge.
Because your skin’s newly formed layer will be temporarily more susceptible to sunburn, you’ll need to protect it with an effective sunscreen for several weeks. TCA is a strong chemical that can transform the appearance of your skin, but it should be administered only by a skilled and experienced physician.
FRUIT ACID (AHA) PEEL
AHA ( Alpha Hidroxy Acid ) peels can be very helpful in treating acne, especially as a part of an overall acne management program.
Made from naturally occurring acids found in fruits and other foods, alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) peels–or, at least, the main ingredients in them–have been popular for removing dead cells on the surface of the skin (thus smoothing and rejuvenating the skin) for a very long time.
Glycolic acid, which is derived from sugar cane, is probably the most popular grade of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) used by physicians for facial peels. Glycolic acid peels are effective, yet they tend to produce the minimum of side effects. Most of the glycolic acid formulations used by physicians contain acid concentrations of 50 percent or higher. (By comparison, over-the-counter cosmetic AHA products containonly 3 to 10 percent glycolic acid, percentages with questionable usefulness.)
What does it do?
AHA peels removes the top layer of dead cells on your skin, revealing a new layer that is smoother-textured and more vibrant-looking. These peels help with fine lines, minor skin discolorations (such as “age” spots), and dry patches known as solar keratoses. They’re also useful for treating acne and for removing or minimizing old acne scars. Glycolic acid peels are also believed to stimulate the growth of collagen, a protein that helps give skin its structure. The loss of collagen due to aging and sun exposure is one of the factors involved in the formation of lines and wrinkles.
Contra Indication
some people should not have AHA peels. These include people who are using the acne medication Accutane or who have active cold sores, as well as women who are pregnant.
As with other types of AHA peels, certain people–particularly those using the acne drug Accutane or those with active cold sores–should not have this particular skin-rejuvenation treatment.
Side Effects
For a few days after treatment, your skin will look slightly reddened, and it may peel a bit. It will also be dry–a side effect that can be relieved with a moisturizer. You’ll need to wear a sunscreen for several weeks, as your skin will be more vulnerable than usual to sunburn.
Acne is a common condition characterized by obstructed sebaceous glands, pimples and sometimes deeper cysts or nodules that occur on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and upper arms. Acne begins in adolescence and usually affects most teenagers at some time. However, adults too can suffer with acne. When severe, acne can often result in scarring. Even less severe cases can lead to scarring, if not properly treated.
Until recently, patients with persistent, moderate acne have been treated with only topical or sometimes systemic antibiotics. Recent studies have demonstrated, however, that certain discrete spectra can trigger endogenic porphyrins that naturally destroy P. acnes bacteria — and in just a fraction of the time it typically takes for antibiotics to work. Within eight brief acne laser treatments, over just four weeks, Harmony®XL‘s AFT can provide significant improvement. This is three times faster than common antibiotics and topical. Patients should achieve 80% clearance and treatments for acne take only a few minutes.
Technology in use
Clear inflammatory acne lesions without drugs or undesirable side effects using the HarmonyXL AFT laser handpiece. Intense blue wavelengths in the range of 420-950 nm target the porphyrins produced as part of the normal metabolism of P. acnes bacteria. The interaction of the intense blue light and the porphyrins creates singlet oxygen that rapidly destroys the bacteria without damaging the surrounding tissue.

8 easy treatments instead of daily pills or creams
Scars can be an annoying blemish to live with. There are many different kind of scars that can originate from a number of different conditions (e.g. acne scars, surgery scars and so on). Depending on the type of scar to be dealt with, a variety of treatment options can be chosen. Laser scar treatment is a non-invasive, advanced approach to scar treatment that offers excellent results without the discomfort and downtime of surgery.
Get rid of scars in a gentle and safe way
The ablative lasers are the “gold standard” of lasers for dermatological treatments. They ablate the skin with a degree of precision that can be measured in microns. This makes it possible to safely and gently remove a wide variety of lesions from the skin at epidermis and dermis level, including scars. Due to their ease of absorption in water, both the Erbium:YAG (2,940 nm) and the CO2 (10,600 nm) wavelengths are highly suitable for this purpose.
The MicroSpot technology from Asclepion offers the possibility to carry out fractional treatments as well. This special technology allows the treatment of only “fractions” of the skin in the form of a grid. This is made possible by splitting the laser beam into several hundred partial rays, which are barely visible to the naked eye. It triggers skin renewal and collagen formation, without harming the surrounding tissue. In just a few quick, easy treatment sessions, scars are much less visible, leaving behind smoother, more attractive skin.
Derma Roller is an incredible device which naturally increases the levels of collagen and elastin in your skin. Stretch marks, wrinkles, scars and uneven, pitted skin are all due to a lack of collagen – so by using a DermaRoller to replace the collagen you can help your skin renew itself and repair to a cosmetic level.
Will this work for my case?
Don’t think of this a miraculous gadget, but still the derma roller will work to a really wide range of skin problems, everything that is related to skin imperfections, to irrigation problems, even baldness can be minimized using this method, here is a comprehensive list of known applications:
So what does DermaRoller look like?
A Derma Roller is a simple hand held skin roller which has 192 surgical steel micro-needles which are able to part the pores of the top layer of the skin without damaging it. The pores of the skin close again after about an hour, but during that period your skin is able to absorb skin creams and lotions much more efficiently. We even provide vitamin rich treatment cream to ensure your body gets the nutrition it needs.
How long before I see results from my DermaRoller?
The rate at which you will get results depends on what condition you are treating and how extensively your skin needs to remodel. This process of skin remodelling can continue for literally months after each Derma Roller treatment, but visibly noticeable changes can be seen within a week! Your skin naturally renews itself every 40 days, so with a little stimulation, changes can be dramatic and fast.
Can you use a Derma Roller on any part of your body?
Dermaroller can be carried out on almost any part of the body: the arms, hands, legs, thighs, body, abdomen, neck, face, cheeks, scalp, even around the eye area – such as crows feet and frown lines.
Does the skin rolling process hurt? or make you bleed?
No! There are two alternative methods of Derma Rolling. One method involves the use of numbing cream to completely numb the area to be treated, followed by more aggressive use of the Derma Roller once per week. The second alternative, involves using the roller with light pressure up to 5 times per week without numbing cream. Using your roller gently gives a kind of tickling feeling and is not painful – although your face is more sensitive to it than your body. Neither of the methods should draw blood. You may find that there is a temporary reddening of the skin for around an hour after treatment and it can give a sensation similar to mild sunburn. We recommend the use of vitamin rich treatment cream after use, and sunscreen / block if you will be exposed to the sun after treatment.
There is no better place to turn for this new skin tightening treatment, as we’ve been involved in the process almost from day one. To get the FDA approval – which was recently granted after overwhelming positive results were gathered – this facial rejuvenation technique had to go through a series of clinical trials. Only the best were asked to be part of these trials, and we’re proud to say that we made the list. The study was a terrific success, leading to the approval and opening up the procedure for public use.
Skip the Surgery
Many other facial rejuvenation procedures are carried out with surgery. Though minor, it does pose a risk and come with longer recovery times. This does not make it ideal for everyone. Venus Viva, however, is a non-surgical skin tightening treatment, so you can skip the surgery and still get the same great results. Instead, the radio frequency treatment is utilized for its ability to stimulate collagen, and it can also be used to treat the skin’s surface. This is non-invasive, and it can still provide all of these results:
If you’ve been considering an operation but feeling hesitant because you don’t want to go in for surgery, it’s time you considered this brand new skin tightening treatment that has just hit the market.
Reduced Recovery Times
Not only will this skin tightening operation give you tremendous results while reducing pain and discomfort, but it can also give you faster recovery times than have previously been possible. Downtime is incredibly minimal. For most people, there is just a slight redness to the skin. This can last for 24-48 hours. However, it is hardly noticeable in many cases, and it’s not hard to hide with makeup.
This means that the non-surgical skin tightening isn’t going to be intrusive in your life. You don’t have to skip out on vacations, take time off work, or adjust your schedule. You don’t have to worry about your appearance. People usually do three treatment sessions to get the best results, but it’s easy to work around them as they really don’t hinder you at all. You’ll get the beautiful look you want with none of the traditional drawbacks.

How Silhouette Soft® works
Silhouette Soft® uses a double action effect to restore smoother and more toned skin, but also a more shapely face.
To meet this requirement, Silhouette Soft® combines two effects: An immediate repositioning of the tissue and a gradual regeneration of collagen.
The repositioning effect is immediate and discreet. It is the result of tissue compression and skin elevation at the time of implanting the suture. After inserting the suture, the doctor applies slight pressure on the treated area. In this way, the doctor reshapes the contours of your face and makes it visibly smoother.
The regenerating effect is gradual: Poly L-lactic acid (PLLA), the principal component of Silhouette Soft® is a well-known polymer that has been used for many years in a number of biomedical and pharmaceutical applications: suture thread, orthopedic pins, rods, screws and nails for bone fractures. It is because this polymer shows excellent biocompatability and is biodegradable that such applications have been developed.
The small cones on the Silhouette Soft® Suture provide traction and fixation points, a natural foreign body reaction then reinforces this, by the build-up of new collagen formation. This action is what helps restore shapeliness to the face and neck.
How do you know Silhouette Soft® is safe?
Unlike many suspension sutures on the market today which originate from Asia, Silhouette Soft® is made in the USA and is subject to numerous sanitary controls. PHARMACOLOGY
Glutathione competitively inhibits melanin synthesis in the reaction of tyrosinase and L-DOPA by interrupting L-DOPA’s ability to bind to tyrosinase during melanin synthesis. These result indicate that glutathione inhibits the synthesis and agglutination of melanin by interupting the function of L-DOPA.
Vitamin C and glutathione have a unique relationship. Vitamin C reduce glutathione back to the active form. In its active form, glutathione will regenerate vitamin C from its oxidized state.
Alpha lipolic acid 200mg; is both fat-and-water-soluble, that means it can work throughout the body.
Evidence suggests alpha lipolic acid may help extend the time that glutathione level remain elevated after supplementation.
N-acetyl-L-cysteine 225 mg; has been shown to augment the glutathione reserves in the body.
L-Methionine 100 mg; therapy resulted in a significant increase of hepatic glutathione level both in patients with alcoholic and in those with non-alcoholic liver desease as compared with placebo-treated patients.
Selenomethionine 200 mg; studies show that selenomethionine supplemented medium exhibited markedly elevated glutathione peroxidase activity and linear increases in abudance of GPx1 and GPx3 proteins.
Vitamin E 100 IU; glutathione level is significantly related to vitamin E level, and supplementation with vitamin E ( 100 IU/day ) significantly increase glutathione and lowers lipid peroxidation and HbA 1 c concetrations in the erythrocytes of type 1 diabetic patients.
Vitamin B2 1,3 mg; is instrumental in reduction of the oxidized form of glutathione ( GSSG ) to it redusced form ( GSH ).
Vitamin B6 1,3 mg; is a cofactor in the biosynthesis of five important neurotransmitters: serotonin, dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, and gamma-aminobutyric acid ( GABA .
Vitamin B6 is also involved in the synthesis of histamine and play role in glutathione metabolism.
The human body needs Vitamin B9 400mcg as a cofactor in certain biological reactions. It is especially important in aiding rapid cell division and growth. It is role as glutathione booster lies in Vitamin B9’s ability to divert than homocysterine production.
Vitamin B12 2,4 mcg is a water-soluble vitamin that involved in the metabolism of every cell of the human body.

A non-invasive method to improve skin texture
There has been significant interest in non-invasive methods to effectively improve skin texture without patient downtime. The ablative lasers are able to achieve these results thanks to a light procedure which allows dermal damage to be controlled. Wound healing leads to skin remodeling and a reduction in superficial wrinkles, skin toning and the removal of pigmented spots in the epidermis.
Erbium laser have been used as an effective instrument in skin resurfacing for many years. They are more precise and effective than chemical peels when it comes to removing the top layers of the skin, which causes smooth new skin to form and collagen to be renewed.
The Erbium:YAG laser is the gold standard in dermatology when it comes to highly precise ablation. It allows the safe and gentle removal of a variety of benign lesions of the epidermis and dermis. It provides effective treatment for wrinkles and scars, such as those caused by acne, without any thermal damage to the skin, due to the high water absorption of its wavelength and the highly effective ablative and fractional technology. Its reliability and effectiveness have been proven worldwide.
TREATMENTS :
Treatments using lasers are gentle on the skin and eliminate bothersome skin lesions very effectively and in a matter of minutes. The Erbium laser selectively sloughs off tissue, with minimal pain. It also stimulates skin renewal, for attractive results: tangibly smoother, softer skin!
After treatment, it normally only takes a few days for the wound to heal. It is recommended not to expose the treated area to sunlight or sunbeds for at least 10/15 days prior to/following treatment. The use of sunscreen is recommended in summertime and in general when treating areas exposed to sunlight (e.g. the face).
Studies show that the Erbium laser is also very effective in treating scars, for example acne scars, and for skin rejuvenation. The success results from the highly precise removal of tissue during treatment, softening and smoothing of tissue during wound healing and collagen neogenesis during the first year post-op.
What kind of skin lesions can be treated?
The Erbium can safely and effectively remove the following lesions:
Is laser treatment safe?
Laser devices have been utilized in cosmetic surgery for over twenty years, demonstrating a high degree of reliability and effectiveness when used by qualified specialists on carefully-selected patients. Lasers have taken over from the old traditional alternatives such as chemical peeling and dermo-abrasion, where the depth of action cannot be controlled and are more painful and uncomfortable for the patient.
How many sessions are necessary?
One single treatment is normally enough to remove superficial lesions. Depending on the depth and size of the lesion, more sessions may be needed.
How long is the healing time?
The recovery time is usually very short. During the first 48 hours, there may be a sensation of heat or burning similar to sunstroke – discomfort that will vanish thanks to the use of creams indicated by the physician. For 10-15 days afterwards, the skin will have a smooth appearance with a reddish color that can easily be covered with light makeup and without affecting your daily activities or social life.
What are the post-treatment instructions to be followed?
During the first 48 hours, moisturizing antibiotic and anti-inflammatory creams can be applied. The use of vaseline-based preparations is also recommended for eight days after the operation in order to prevent the formation of unsightly scabs. Following this, it will still be necessary to protect your skin from the sun’s rays for about two months.
Is the treatment painful?
The treatment is not painful and is well-tolerated by the patient. A local anesthetic may be used for particularly sensitive areas.
Are there any undesirable side effects?
There may be some unsightly dark marks, which always disappear within a few weeks, either on their own or by following your physician’s instructions.
What results are achieved?
Many lesions can be easily removed without the formation of scars. After laser therapy, the skin will be tighter, smoother and more polished.
Why do wrinkles occur?
With the passing of the years, the skin of the face tends to relax and become thinner. This is mainly due to the loss of collagen, dehydration, and other secondary factors such as smoking, stress, excessive exposure to the sun, poor diet and atmospheric pollution.
Can lasers get rid of wrinkles in the skin?
Lasers emit a light capable of vaporizing the superficial layers of the epidermis and softening the furrows of the wrinkles. This process leads to a desquamation of the treated tissue and the natural regeneration of the skin. In fact, the epidermis that remains underneath produces new cells and new collagen forms, with an overall improvement in skin texture and elasticity.
Which areas can be treated?
The wrinkles around the eyes and the perioral region (around the mouth) can be treated, along with acne scars, old-age spots on the hands and face, and generally any other skin imperfections.

How many sessions are necessary?
One single treatment can be carried out by operating at a greater depth; otherwise, it is possible to carry out several “softer” treatments in order to better assess the situation and with shorter recovery periods. It depends more on the patient’s requirements than on the physician’s decision.

After laser therapy, the skin will be tighter, smoother and more polished, the deep wrinkles will be attenuated and the finer ones will disappear. Moreover, the treatment will not cause any alterations in your natural facial expression or gestures.
Another very common blemish that can be successfully treated with the laser therapy are the striae distensae, also known as stretch marks. These blemishes are characterized by linear bands of atrophic or wrinkled skin that result from excessive dermal stretching, such as after rapid weight loss/gain, pubertal growth or pregnancy. In their early stages, they are present as a dermal inflammation with dilated capillaries, which results in an erythematous appearance. In the terminal phase, striae appear hypopigmented and fibrotic owing to the linear deposition of dermal bundles and the thinning of the overlying epidermis.
The result of laser scar treatment is a flattening of the edges of the scar, a visible improvement in the skin texture and in the color of the scar, which becomes lighter.
The new tool in dermatology and medical aesthetics.
PLASMAGE is a medical device for non-invasive micro-surgery.
PLASMAGE is able to generate the plasma through an electric discharge that starts when the tip is getting close enough to the skin but never touching it.
Applications
These small skin tumors are benign and are usually asymptomatic unless they are not traumatized voluntarily or involuntarily by clothes or other.
There are no known causes, however, it seems that the irritation due to rubbing in skin folds stimulates growth. The pendulous fibroids are very common in middle age. They develop in both men and women. They may be skin-colored or darker and of variable size between 1 and 5 mm.
On close inspection, normal skin lines over the surface of the lesion are typically disrupted. The dome-shaped lesions can also be studded with black puncta. The growth is characterized by hypertrophy of dermal papillae and thickening of the keratin layers of the epidermis. The surface is hyperkeratotic with many small filamentous projections. Verrucae commonly occur on hands and fingers, and can occur in groups or in a linear pattern.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment which enhances the body’s natural healing process by inhalation of 100% oxygen in a total body chamber, where atmospheric pressure is increased and controlled. It is used for a wide variety of treatments usually as a part of an overall medical care plan.
Under normal circumstances, oxygen is transported throughout the body only by red blood cells. With HBOT, oxygen is dissolved into all of the body’s fluids, the plasma, the central nervous system fluids, the lymph, and the bone and can be carried to areas where circulation is diminished or blocked. In this way, extra oxygen can reach all of the damaged tissues and the body can support its own healing process. The increased oxygen greatly enhances the ability of white blood cells to kill bacteria, reduces swelling and allows new blood vessels to grow more rapidly into the affected areas. It is a simple, non-invasive and painless treatment.
What are the benefits of HBOT?
It has long been known that healing many areas of the body cannot take place without appropriate oxygen levels in the tissue. Most illnesses and injuries occur, and often linger, at the cellular or tissue level. In many cases, such as: circulatory problems; non-healing wounds; and strokes, adequate oxygen cannot reach the damaged area and the body’s natural healing ability is unable to function properly. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy provides this extra oxygen naturally and with minimal side effects.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy improves the quality of life of the patient in many areas when standard medicine is not working. Many conditions such as stroke, cerebral palsy, head injuries, and chronic fatigue have responded favorably to HBOT.
What conditions does HBOT treat?
Hyperbaric oxygen is used to treat all conditions which benefit from increased tissue oxygen availability, as well as infections where it can be used for its antibiotic properties, either as the primary therapy, or in conjunction with other drugs.
The following conditions for HBOT :
Are there different types of chambers?
There are basically two types of chambers: monoplace and multiplace.
Monoplace chambers are designed to treat a single person pressurized with 100% oxygen.
Multiplace chambers are designed to hold several people at one time and oxygen is delivered through a mask or a hood.
Only clean cotton clothing is allowed in the chamber. No cosmetics, perfumes, hair preparations, deodorants, wigs or jewelry are allowed in the chamber. The technician needs to know if any medications, including non prescription drugs, are being taken by the patient, and patients are advised not to take alcohol or carbonated drinks for four hours prior to treatment. In most cases, patients should give up smoking and any other tobacco products during their treatment period, as they interfere with the body’s ability to transport oxygen.
HBOT is administered in a private setting in state-of-the-art, monoplace chamber of clear acrylic. This allows our trained technicians to closely monitor the patient and permits the patient to readily see outside the chamber. Patients are in constant view and communication with the attending technician via an intercom or may watch a movie, listen to music, or just rest.
Is HBOT safe?
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is prescribed by a physician and performed under medical supervision. Although there are minor risks like all medical treatments, overall hyperbaric oxygen therapy is extremely safe. The risks will be discussed with you before you sign your consent form for therapy.
Are there any side effects?
The most common side effect is barotrauma to the ears and sinuses caused by the change in pressure. To minimize this risk, patients learn techniques to promote adequate clearing of the ears during compression or tubes may be inserted in the ears. Occasionally some patients may experience changes in their vision during their treatment period. These changes are usually minor and temporary. A rare side effect is oxygen toxicity which is caused by administering too much oxygen.
What information does the technician need to know from the patient prior to HBOT?
How does hyperbaric oxygen help brain injury or stroke?
When cells in the brain die, either from trauma or lack of oxygen, blood plasma leaks out into surrounding brain tissue causing swelling and reducing blood flow. These otherwise normal cells go dormant because they can’t function without the appropriate amount of oxygen. HBOT dramatically increases the oxygen carried in the blood plasma, making oxygen available to heal damaged capillary walls, preventing plasma leakage and reducing swelling. As the swelling decreases, blood flow can be restored to the dormant tissue (neovascularization) and these cells then have the potential to function again.
How does hyperbaric oxygen help a child with cerebral palsy (CP) or traumatic brain injury (TBI)?
In CP and TBI patients, some of the injured brain tissues may be “dormant” and non-functioning. HBOT can stimulate these “dormant” tissues and return them to more normal function. In young children, cognitive function and spasticity can be improved.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, used in conjunction with other therapies, ensures the best recovery possible for children with cerebral palsy and traumatic brain injury
