A non-invasive method to improve skin texture
There has been significant interest in non-invasive methods to effectively improve skin texture without patient downtime. The ablative lasers are able to achieve these results thanks to a light procedure which allows dermal damage to be controlled. Wound healing leads to skin remodeling and a reduction in superficial wrinkles, skin toning and the removal of pigmented spots in the epidermis.
Erbium laser have been used as an effective instrument in skin resurfacing for many years. They are more precise and effective than chemical peels when it comes to removing the top layers of the skin, which causes smooth new skin to form and collagen to be renewed.
The Erbium:YAG laser is the gold standard in dermatology when it comes to highly precise ablation. It allows the safe and gentle removal of a variety of benign lesions of the epidermis and dermis. It provides effective treatment for wrinkles and scars, such as those caused by acne, without any thermal damage to the skin, due to the high water absorption of its wavelength and the highly effective ablative and fractional technology. Its reliability and effectiveness have been proven worldwide.
TREATMENTS :
Treatments using lasers are gentle on the skin and eliminate bothersome skin lesions very effectively and in a matter of minutes. The Erbium laser selectively sloughs off tissue, with minimal pain. It also stimulates skin renewal, for attractive results: tangibly smoother, softer skin!
After treatment, it normally only takes a few days for the wound to heal. It is recommended not to expose the treated area to sunlight or sunbeds for at least 10/15 days prior to/following treatment. The use of sunscreen is recommended in summertime and in general when treating areas exposed to sunlight (e.g. the face).
Studies show that the Erbium laser is also very effective in treating scars, for example acne scars, and for skin rejuvenation. The success results from the highly precise removal of tissue during treatment, softening and smoothing of tissue during wound healing and collagen neogenesis during the first year post-op.
What kind of skin lesions can be treated?
The Erbium can safely and effectively remove the following lesions:
Is laser treatment safe?
Laser devices have been utilized in cosmetic surgery for over twenty years, demonstrating a high degree of reliability and effectiveness when used by qualified specialists on carefully-selected patients. Lasers have taken over from the old traditional alternatives such as chemical peeling and dermo-abrasion, where the depth of action cannot be controlled and are more painful and uncomfortable for the patient.
How many sessions are necessary?
One single treatment is normally enough to remove superficial lesions. Depending on the depth and size of the lesion, more sessions may be needed.
How long is the healing time?
The recovery time is usually very short. During the first 48 hours, there may be a sensation of heat or burning similar to sunstroke – discomfort that will vanish thanks to the use of creams indicated by the physician. For 10-15 days afterwards, the skin will have a smooth appearance with a reddish color that can easily be covered with light makeup and without affecting your daily activities or social life.
What are the post-treatment instructions to be followed?
During the first 48 hours, moisturizing antibiotic and anti-inflammatory creams can be applied. The use of vaseline-based preparations is also recommended for eight days after the operation in order to prevent the formation of unsightly scabs. Following this, it will still be necessary to protect your skin from the sun’s rays for about two months.
Is the treatment painful?
The treatment is not painful and is well-tolerated by the patient. A local anesthetic may be used for particularly sensitive areas.
Are there any undesirable side effects?
There may be some unsightly dark marks, which always disappear within a few weeks, either on their own or by following your physician’s instructions.
What results are achieved?
Many lesions can be easily removed without the formation of scars. After laser therapy, the skin will be tighter, smoother and more polished.
Why do wrinkles occur?
With the passing of the years, the skin of the face tends to relax and become thinner. This is mainly due to the loss of collagen, dehydration, and other secondary factors such as smoking, stress, excessive exposure to the sun, poor diet and atmospheric pollution.
Can lasers get rid of wrinkles in the skin?
Lasers emit a light capable of vaporizing the superficial layers of the epidermis and softening the furrows of the wrinkles. This process leads to a desquamation of the treated tissue and the natural regeneration of the skin. In fact, the epidermis that remains underneath produces new cells and new collagen forms, with an overall improvement in skin texture and elasticity.
Which areas can be treated?
The wrinkles around the eyes and the perioral region (around the mouth) can be treated, along with acne scars, old-age spots on the hands and face, and generally any other skin imperfections.

How many sessions are necessary?
One single treatment can be carried out by operating at a greater depth; otherwise, it is possible to carry out several “softer” treatments in order to better assess the situation and with shorter recovery periods. It depends more on the patient’s requirements than on the physician’s decision.

Scars can be an annoying blemish to live with. There are many different kind of scars that can originate from a number of different conditions (e.g. acne scars, surgery scars and so on). Depending on the type of scar to be dealt with, a variety of treatment options can be chosen. Laser scar treatment is a non-invasive, advanced approach to scar treatment that offers excellent results without the discomfort and downtime of surgery.
Get rid of scars in a gentle and safe way
The ablative lasers are the “gold standard” of lasers for dermatological treatments. They ablate the skin with a degree of precision that can be measured in microns. This makes it possible to safely and gently remove a wide variety of lesions from the skin at epidermis and dermis level, including scars. Due to their ease of absorption in water, both the Erbium:YAG (2,940 nm) and the CO2 (10,600 nm) wavelengths are highly suitable for this purpose.
The MicroSpot technology from Asclepion offers the possibility to carry out fractional treatments as well. This special technology allows the treatment of only “fractions” of the skin in the form of a grid. This is made possible by splitting the laser beam into several hundred partial rays, which are barely visible to the naked eye. It triggers skin renewal and collagen formation, without harming the surrounding tissue. In just a few quick, easy treatment sessions, scars are much less visible, leaving behind smoother, more attractive skin.
Another very common blemish that can be successfully treated with the laser therapy are the striae distensae, also known as stretch marks. These blemishes are characterized by linear bands of atrophic or wrinkled skin that result from excessive dermal stretching, such as after rapid weight loss/gain, pubertal growth or pregnancy. In their early stages, they are present as a dermal inflammation with dilated capillaries, which results in an erythematous appearance. In the terminal phase, striae appear hypopigmented and fibrotic owing to the linear deposition of dermal bundles and the thinning of the overlying epidermis.
The result of laser scar treatment is a flattening of the edges of the scar, a visible improvement in the skin texture and in the color of the scar, which becomes lighter.

PLASMAGE is a medical device for non-invasive micro-surgery.
PLASMAGE is able to generate the plasma through an electric discharge that starts when the tip is getting close enough to the skin but never touching it.
Applications
These small skin tumors are benign and are usually asymptomatic unless they are not traumatized voluntarily or involuntarily by clothes or other.
There are no known causes, however, it seems that the irritation due to rubbing in skin folds stimulates growth. The pendulous fibroids are very common in middle age. They develop in both men and women. They may be skin-colored or darker and of variable size between 1 and 5 mm.
On close inspection, normal skin lines over the surface of the lesion are typically disrupted. The dome-shaped lesions can also be studded with black puncta. The growth is characterized by hypertrophy of dermal papillae and thickening of the keratin layers of the epidermis. The surface is hyperkeratotic with many small filamentous projections. Verrucae commonly occur on hands and fingers, and can occur in groups or in a linear pattern.
Different ages of a woman’s life are accompanied by different experiences with regard to her intimacy and her sexuality, and are unavoidably associated with a variety of vaginal conditions. These may strongly affect the quality of life of a woman, both physically, psychologically as well as sexually. Childbirth (especially natural) and menopause are just two examples of events that cause a change in the intimate area and vaginal environment, each of them accompanied by different disorders.
Many women who experience unpleasant symptoms such as genital itching, irritation, poor vaginal lubrication, vaginal dryness and even pain during intercourse (dyspareunia) do not like to talk about these issues, sometimes not even with their gynecologist. They can be ashamed and think that they are the only ones going through these issues. In fact, all of these symptoms are quite common in women of different ages and tend to worsen over time. That means that they are not temporary and they are not going to disappear if not treated.
What is the Juliet treatment?
Juliet is a minimally invasive vaginal rejuvenation treatment, the goal of which is to restore the original metabolism of connective tissue and improve the state of the mucosa, by stimulating a process of neocollagenesis. This leads to a restoration and a return to the natural PH of the mucosal structure, increasing its flexibility.
What does “vaginal rejuvenation” mean?
Vaginal rejuvenation is not intended to be just an aesthetic treatment. A Juliet laser treatment leads not only to a tightening of the internal vaginal walls (often referred to as “rejuvenation”), but it also involves specific functional changes, for example the regaining of functionality when treating for mild stress urinary incontinence and also the restoration of tissue metabolism in the case of vaginal atrophy.
How does the Juliet treatment work?
The wall of the vagina is composed of four different layers:
Mucosa – Internal lining of epithelial tissue made up of squamous epithelial cells
Sub-mucosa – Connective tissue that supports the mucosa and connects it to the muscularis
Muscularis – Muscle tissue
Adventitia – Connective tissue interlaced with elastic fibers, connects the vagina to surrounding organs
The vaginal walls are usually collapsed so that they touch each other. The walls have many folds, which allow the vagina to enlarge during sexual intercourse and childbirth. Glands near the opening of the vagina secrete mucus to keep the mucosa moist.
The objective of the laser treatment is to reach the sub-mucosa, which is elastic and rich in collagen and can be stimulated “selectively”, meaning without damaging the surrounding tissue. Thanks to the special characteristics of its wavelength, the Erbium:YAG laser is able to reach this goal in a very fast and effective way, avoiding unwanted side effects on the surrounding tissue.
What does the treatment involve?
The procedure is performed by a gynecologist or by a surgeon in a medical practice. Usually, no anesthesia is required (since neither incisions nor sutures are performed), however, a topical anesthetic may be applied if needed. Using the special V-Spot handpiece, the physician is able to perform the treatment in just a few minutes. The whole procedure takes less than 15 minutes and is fast, painless and discreet.
What should I expect from the treatment?
The Juliet laser treatment leads to a restoration of the metabolism of connective tissue and to an improvement in the condition of the mucosa. This translates into an attenuation of the symptoms which can be observed immediately after the first treatment. The inner mucosa regains elasticity and lubrication, gaining thickness and softness. Itching, irritation and pain during intercourse disappear and the symptoms of mild stress urinary incontinence are also significantly reduced as a result of the stimulating action of the laser on the mucosa. This action continues its beneficial effect even after the treatment is finished and, for this reason, many women report further improvements during the first month post-treatment.
Is the treatment painful?
No, the treatment is not painful at all. Usually, it is very well tolerated without anesthesia. If needed, a mild topical anesthetic may be applied.
How many sessions are necessary?
In most cases, satisfactory results can be obtained after the first session, with no need for further treatments. Depending on the severity of the symptoms however, a second treatment may be recommended after few months.
Which women can undergo a Juliet laser treatment?
In general, any women experiencing these symptoms and looking for a fast, non-surgical and discreet procedure can undergo a Juliet treatment. Before performing the treatment, your doctor will firstly rule out the presence of local or systemic diseases.
Are there any undesirable side effects?
No medical treatment is completely risk-free. Normally, this laser treatment has minimal complications. Potential side-effects can include an increase in temperature and febrile response in the first day following treatment and/or odorless vaginal secretions. These effects are temporary and usually disappear within one or two days.
How long is the recovery time?
The healing times are very short, normally no longer than three days. During this time, some secretion may be noticed (pink colored for the first day, then white colored). This is a normal reaction and will disappear in a few days.
What are the post-treatment instructions to be followed?
It is recommended for the first three days after the treatment to refrain from sexual intercourse, heavy physical exercise and sport activities such as swimming or sauna. Should a low grade fever arise, anti-inflammation is recommended (the symptom will in any case disappear after few days).

Your physician may recommend that you use a specially formulated skin care product line or prescribe a skin care regime especially formulated for your skin type. The use of sun screen is recommended on any treated areas exposed to the sun.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment which enhances the body’s natural healing process by inhalation of 100% oxygen in a total body chamber, where atmospheric pressure is increased and controlled. It is used for a wide variety of treatments usually as a part of an overall medical care plan.
Under normal circumstances, oxygen is transported throughout the body only by red blood cells. With HBOT, oxygen is dissolved into all of the body’s fluids, the plasma, the central nervous system fluids, the lymph, and the bone and can be carried to areas where circulation is diminished or blocked. In this way, extra oxygen can reach all of the damaged tissues and the body can support its own healing process. The increased oxygen greatly enhances the ability of white blood cells to kill bacteria, reduces swelling and allows new blood vessels to grow more rapidly into the affected areas. It is a simple, non-invasive and painless treatment.
What are the benefits of HBOT?
It has long been known that healing many areas of the body cannot take place without appropriate oxygen levels in the tissue. Most illnesses and injuries occur, and often linger, at the cellular or tissue level. In many cases, such as: circulatory problems; non-healing wounds; and strokes, adequate oxygen cannot reach the damaged area and the body’s natural healing ability is unable to function properly. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy provides this extra oxygen naturally and with minimal side effects.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy improves the quality of life of the patient in many areas when standard medicine is not working. Many conditions such as stroke, cerebral palsy, head injuries, and chronic fatigue have responded favorably to HBOT.
What conditions does HBOT treat?
Hyperbaric oxygen is used to treat all conditions which benefit from increased tissue oxygen availability, as well as infections where it can be used for its antibiotic properties, either as the primary therapy, or in conjunction with other drugs.
The following conditions for HBOT :
Are there different types of chambers?
There are basically two types of chambers: monoplace and multiplace.
Monoplace chambers are designed to treat a single person pressurized with 100% oxygen.
Multiplace chambers are designed to hold several people at one time and oxygen is delivered through a mask or a hood.
Only clean cotton clothing is allowed in the chamber. No cosmetics, perfumes, hair preparations, deodorants, wigs or jewelry are allowed in the chamber. The technician needs to know if any medications, including non prescription drugs, are being taken by the patient, and patients are advised not to take alcohol or carbonated drinks for four hours prior to treatment. In most cases, patients should give up smoking and any other tobacco products during their treatment period, as they interfere with the body’s ability to transport oxygen.
HBOT is administered in a private setting in state-of-the-art, monoplace chamber of clear acrylic. This allows our trained technicians to closely monitor the patient and permits the patient to readily see outside the chamber. Patients are in constant view and communication with the attending technician via an intercom or may watch a movie, listen to music, or just rest.
Is HBOT safe?
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is prescribed by a physician and performed under medical supervision. Although there are minor risks like all medical treatments, overall hyperbaric oxygen therapy is extremely safe. The risks will be discussed with you before you sign your consent form for therapy.
Are there any side effects?
The most common side effect is barotrauma to the ears and sinuses caused by the change in pressure. To minimize this risk, patients learn techniques to promote adequate clearing of the ears during compression or tubes may be inserted in the ears. Occasionally some patients may experience changes in their vision during their treatment period. These changes are usually minor and temporary. A rare side effect is oxygen toxicity which is caused by administering too much oxygen.
What information does the technician need to know from the patient prior to HBOT?
How does hyperbaric oxygen help brain injury or stroke?
When cells in the brain die, either from trauma or lack of oxygen, blood plasma leaks out into surrounding brain tissue causing swelling and reducing blood flow. These otherwise normal cells go dormant because they can’t function without the appropriate amount of oxygen. HBOT dramatically increases the oxygen carried in the blood plasma, making oxygen available to heal damaged capillary walls, preventing plasma leakage and reducing swelling. As the swelling decreases, blood flow can be restored to the dormant tissue (neovascularization) and these cells then have the potential to function again.
How does hyperbaric oxygen help a child with cerebral palsy (CP) or traumatic brain injury (TBI)?
In CP and TBI patients, some of the injured brain tissues may be “dormant” and non-functioning. HBOT can stimulate these “dormant” tissues and return them to more normal function. In young children, cognitive function and spasticity can be improved.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, used in conjunction with other therapies, ensures the best recovery possible for children with cerebral palsy and traumatic brain injury
